About the retreat
If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that in order for Wisdom to speak, we must create the space to listen.
This is why I love travel and why I created this Brave Journey retreat—to provide an intimate, small-group experience that empowers you to walk Bravely and Boldly into this next phase of your life.
What to expect
As you arrive in Kotor, I’ll invite you into two transformational journeys: One is an outer journey in which you’ll experience this magical city, its sights, people and culinary delights with a small group of lovely like-hearted women. Be prepared to be challenged, delighted, have a ton of FUN, and come away feeling empowered in some new found travel skills!
The second journey is an inner journey of transformation.
Using my BRAVE Journey process, we’ll start our week together by intentionally creating space for RESPITE. This is time for you to relax, reflect, be with yourself and feel seen, safe and supported by one another. This is your time to find healing, get to know who you are and ask, “What do I want for this next phase of my life?”
Feeling seen and supported by others is how we begin to step into our own bravery. In this part of the retreat, I’ll invite you to ask what it looks like to RECLAIM the magic in your life. Life might not have turned out how you expected and parts of you might have gotten lost in the shuffle. So as you invite those beautiful parts of your true self back, I’ll encourage you to ask, “What does a life that is magical look like for me?”
All week long, you’ll feel loved and nurtured and supported by a group of women who’ve grown to know your brilliance and who are ready to cheer you on as you move boldly and bravely into this new phase.

Our very own villa
Come experience your own slice of a peaceful paradise in this 200-year-old, 4,300-square-foot, stone villa located right on the beautiful azul bay in Montenegro! From here you can enjoy a gorgeous sea view and sunset each night while sipping your favorite drink, journaling or chatting with your new-found friends.

About Kotor, Montenegro
Kotor is a time-capsule retreat for travelers seeking a truly unspoiled Adriatic town. Located on a fjord-like bay in Montenegro, Kotor is a city steeped in tradition and history with remarkable scenic views and ample spots for swimming, dining or strolling the boardwalk along its aquamarine waters.
You’ll spend a full week in this magical place, where the past coexists with the present. Where cobblestones ring with the sound of children racing to school in centuries-old buildings, lines of laundry flutter from wrought-iron balconies, and trees with fresh pomegranates and figs grow abundantly.
Kotor’s Old Town, inhabited by just 3,000 people, is custom-built for aimless strolling. While wandering its maze-like stone walkways, you might drop into an Orthodox church, sip an espresso at an alfresco café, or enjoy a glass of wine while listening to the sounds of a local street musician.
Though sometimes called a "little Dubrovnik," Kotor is much more low-key and smaller than its more famous neighbor. Come explore Montenegro with me, the country that, according to Rick Steves, “has seaside views even more striking than Croatia.”

Dawn Pick Benson
Dawn Pick Benson is a transformational travel coach who helps women experiencing big life change rediscover themselves through solo travel.
She’s also spent the last 20 years traveling in the Balkans, so she knows this region—and its culture, coffee, wine and food—incredibly well!
Her signature 6-month group coaching program, Brave Journey, supports like-minded women in envisioning, planning and taking their own transformational travel journeys.
Dawn is Founder & Owner of GlobeStory Travel, has traveled to nearly 50 countries, and lived and worked in the Middle East and Eastern Europe. She often splits time between the U.S. & the Balkans and is a writer, entrepreneur, question-asker and seeker of adventure.
She’s also a Global Ambassador for the Travel Coach Network, a Certified Cultural Intelligence facilitator and has appeared in publications such as The Washington Post, TripAdvisor, The New York Times and Woman’s World magazine.
