Travel Coach. Writer. Grown-ass woman finding my truest self by inviting curiosity into my work, life & faith.

For as long as I can remember, one thing has been true:

Travel has been my teacher and my healer.

As a kid, I remember regularly spinning the globe and placing my finger on a country so I could grab my encyclopedia Britannica (remember those?) and learn everything I could about that location.

I wondered what people were like there—how they dressed, what they ate, what they loved and what they worried about—and I promised my Indiana farm girl self that I’d one day see those places.

I grew up and made good on those promises. I scrimped and saved so I could backpack South America from Peru to Tierra del Fuego, ride the rails in Europe, study in Egypt and Israel, and live for several months in Kosovo. So far I’ve visited 42 countries.

Every trip has been an adventure of its own, but there is always one through line:

Every trip I’ve taken has changed me.

My experiences for each have looked different, but as I look back, I can see they’ve always created a safe space for me to take a step back from my everyday life and just breathe. To look at things from afar and ask the questions I needed to ask in order to find clarity and healing.

I’ve been through a lot of transitions in life.

  • I’ve been a lost 24-year-old grad student who had no idea what to do with her life.

  • I’ve been a successful 35-year-old marketing director who suddenly found herself out of a job and wondering if she should pull off starting her own business and re-creating a career on her own terms.

  • I’ve been a 46-year-old woman married almost two decades going through a divorce and wondering what the hell I’m gonna do now.

Backpacking South America offered my 24-year-old self long hikes and bus rides where I could journal and think about next steps. That trip brought clarity about my future career during a time I needed it most.

Trying my hand at working remotely in Europe for 6 months gave my 42-year-old self the freedom to see if I could create the life I’d always wanted. It was terrifying, and part of me was convinced I’d lose all my clients, but it taught me you sometimes have to risk failure in order to go after what you actually want.

Packing up and living in Eastern Europe for 3 months after my divorce was the bravest thing I’ve done to date. This was a profound emotional and spiritual healing journey that I so desperately needed. It helped me learn to listen to that voice inside, have compassion for myself, and believe in that little girl with a globe again.

If you’re experiencing a transition like this, I know it sucks.

But I also want you to know you’re not alone.

Research shows the average person goes through 3-5 massive reorientations or transitions in their adult life.

If this is true, then mastering the skills to navigate these transitions is important.

It also means we need each other.

We need support from others who have gone through similar situations or who are in the middle of them so we know we’re not alone.

This need and wish is what birthed my Brave Journey program. It was born out of my own pain and my own struggle for growth. It brings together all I’ve learned about travel and how it can heal and bring clarity for us if we allow it.

If any of this resonates with you,

  • if any part of your soul senses there has to be more to this next phase of my life or my career,

  • if you have no idea where to start or where to go next,

  • if you feel like you just don’t fit where you are or don’t even know who you are,

  • if you’d just like some company along the way,

If you feel like travel could transform you—that it could help you find the healing or clarity you need, I’d love to chat.

A few other deets.

I’m a writer, entrepreneur, question-asker, seeker and sometimes rule breaker. I’m also owner of GlobeStory, a content company focused on multicultural brand messaging strategy and copywriting. I have 20 years of experience as a writer, storyteller, traveler and student of culture and have spent my career helping companies clarify their message and tell their story in a way that’s engaging and culturally relevant. A Certified Cultural Intelligence Facilitator, I’ve traveled to 40 countries and lived and worked in the Middle East and Eastern Europe.

I’ve traveled with friends and solo, and often split time between the U.S. & Kosovo, making my childhood dream of #havelaptopwilltravel my reality.

“Thank you for creating a safe space for us to put our ideas and thoughts out there…I feel like I can dream bigger now!”
