We help companies and organizations tell their stories effectively. Always thorough and meticulous in our craft, dpb communications, LLC ensures that your finished product — whether for print or the Web — not only meets, but exceeds your expectations.
DPB communications, LLC owner, Dawn Pick Benson, began her career as a magazine editor with a love for writing, an eye for photography and a passion for excellence. As an editor, Dawn learned the art of effective storytelling, and she honed her craft by helping magazines produce content to engage audiences.
Dawn eventually decided to apply her experience to higher education, which led to a nine-year stretch working in higher education. As Marketing & Communications Director at Cornerstone University, Dawn served as the university’s chief brand manager. She also helped produce award-winning magazines and admissions recruitment collateral, assisted the university as it entered the world of social media and spearheaded the overhaul of the university’s website — twice! Dawn’s experience also included leading the in-house marketing team and collaborating with outside agencies to create marketing campaigns.
After many years on the client side, Dawn decided to plunge into the agency world. She served as Director of Branded Content at Hanon McKendry, helping them create a new division for the burgeoning field of branded content. Her experience included working with clients such as Two Men and a Truck, Furniture Row, Regional Air Alliance of West Michigan, American Youth Basketball Tour, Cornerstone University, Legrand US, Service Express, National Heritage Academies, The City Mission and Rx Optical.
Helping you tell your stories. Effectively.
In 2012, Dawn decided to create dpb communications to utilize her background in writing and editing and her love of strategy and brand communications. Her goal is simple: to help your company or organization tell its stories more effectively. Her experience on both the client and agency side gives her unique insight into what it takes to make a project successful.
